I have 3 copies of the lovely children’s book Penny and the Pirates to give away.
Penny who is a post lady goes about her daily job of delivering her letters when she comes across a postbox which she hasn’t seen before. She opens the postbox and gets whisked away to a desert island.You then follow Penny as she helps Captain Titch find his ship which Captain BullyBones has stolen.
The book is designed for 5 years up, however my 23 month year old was engaged through the whole story although that might be because I was so engrossed in the story and doing different voices for each character.
I really liked the illustrations and my daughter loved pointing at the pictures and learning new words when asking “what’s that?”. Our favourite parts were when she fell through the postbox and you had to turn the book on its side and also when they were getting Captain Titch’s ship back as we loved the pictures of the ship and the fish.
The book also comes with some stamps and also you can log onto the website http://www.pennythepostie.com/ for pictures to colour in.
Overall this book is a lovely story and would make a great gift for any child.
