This weekend has been pretty busy, now the weather has got better we are getting out and about. We all bundled into the car and drove 250 miles up north to Blackpool. We had lots of toilet stops and got to our our final destination 6 hours later. We stayed in South Beach so had a fair walk to the town centre (2.2 miles to be exact!) After walking to town and back we decided that the next day we were going to catch the tram.

After a great nights sleep from all the fresh air we had a plan of action we wanted to see the circus at the Blackpool tower, go up to the top of the tower an also go to the Sealife centre. After catching the tram we got to the tower and decided to get our tickets for the circus in advance as it was the one thing I really wanted to do. After getting our ticket we decided to go to the Sealife centre and spend the morning there.

MIss E loved the Sealife centre and her favourite bit was the Sharks. Miss C was moaning around the Sealife centre but was very happy that they had a play area at the end.

We then ventured back to the tower to get a seat at the circus. Miss C and Miss E got their faces painted and we settled down to watch the famous circus act. It was brilliant, it entertained the girls and us adults too. Our favourite bit was the White Devils when they were really high up and doing amazing acrobatics. We also enjoyed the finale with all the water. Miss C was very confused as to how they managed to get the water into the circus ring.

After the circus we headed up to the top of the tower, after watching a 4D film about the tower we headed up. The girls really enjoyed walking over the glass floor and loved looking out to sea they then wanted to go up the steps to go higher!

A selection of the photos we took

The following day the girls decided that they wanted to meet Bob the Builder at Madam Tussards and then go to the beach for donkey rides and ice-cream before heading home.

We had a great weekend to Blackpool and instead of keeping my favourite photos on my computer, I will be framing my holiday photos in some gorgeous frames for everyone to see what great fun we had.

Regular readers will know that Miss E and Miss C love Peppa Pig. We were asked to review the new personalised Peppa Pig book by Penwizard – Peppa Pig and your child go swimming.

It was Miss E’s turn to have a personalised book so when I was asked to review the book I did it with MIss E’s name.

Navigating the Penwizard site is really easy (I can do it with no help which is unusual) You personalise it by choosing your child’s name, hair colour, eye colour, gender and skin colour. You then put your payment details in and you are finished. The estimated dispatch date is 3 days but each time I have used Penwizard it has taken 48 hours to get to me which I think is brilliant.

Miss E was excited when the book arrived

The quality is really good and the way that they just replace the childs name with on of the characters is really well done as if your child is an avid fan of Peppa Pig they will know the story. Miss E thought it was fantastic that her name was in the story. I would really reccomend the personalised Peppa Pig books from Penwizard.

The kind people from Penwizard have given us 3 copies of Peppa Pig and your child go swimming all you need to do is fill out the rafflecopter form (if it doesn’t come up click the link)

By Sara appeared first on The Scrummy Mummy.

Having a second baby is very different to having your first. Everyday reinforces the difference between having the first and the second as I battle with the worry that J has to just tag along with whatever I’ve planned with T or I worry that I’ve had to say again to T “you’ll have to wait as I’ve got to see to J”. I am pretty much of the opinion that T thinks J has always been there though and as time goes on I think he enjoys having a brother more and more.

There are also things I’ve realised are worth their weight in gold and other things I’ve realised don’t matter. Some of the things I wish I’d had first time round:

1. Decent feeding bras – this time round I’ve had a lovely one from Bravado. It is called a Bliss nursing bra and really is bliss to wear. I wish I’d had it while pregnant as it is so comfortable. It is a lovely soft fabric and has a supportive band that is a bit like an underwire without the wire. It has about a million adjustments that would allow it to grow with you during pregnancy and then immediately after birth adjust to fit your changing breasts. It has a very adjustable band plus a separate extender. It also has a function that allows you to remove the drop cup attachments making it a normal bra. Of all the bras I’ve tried ( and I’ve tried many) it is by far the most comfortable and most supportive I’ve found.

2. A good hand balm – I have very sensitive skin at the best of times but what with the awful cold weather we’ve had and the huge amount of times I have to wash my hands as a result of having two children in nappies they had become extremely dry and chapped. The solution comes in the form of a fabulous little tin of Dr Bronners hand salve. It is a bit like a delicately smelling wonder balm that seems to sink in to the most chapped skin and stop the stinging. It comes in a cute little metal tin with a slide off lid which fit brilliantly into even the fullest of changing bags. It contains only natural ingredients and I would highly recommend it. With an RRP of only £3.99 it is a must have for all mums.

3. A steam steriliser – I had a microwave one the first time round as I thought this was all I’d need given that I was breast feeding. This time however I have the Tommee Tippee steam steriliser and it is superb. I was worried about using up more of my work top space but in actual fact it is very slimline and is much more convenient. I can sterilise all my breast pump parts plus dummies, bottle cups etc as appropriate and they stay sterile until the unit is opened. It is big enough to fit loads in – although if you wanted to use tall slim bottles they would not fit. I also have Tommee Tippee bottles which are wide necked and so are easy to clean. They are also supposed to have a nipple shaped teat to aid the transition between breast and bottle although J doesn’t seem too interested!

4. Muslins – you can never have enough when you have a baby with reflux. I treated myself to some lovely Faye and Lou rainbow muslins which still look fab even when covered in puke! They are dyed in lovely bright colours rather than the usual pale coloured ones which go grey after a few washes.

5. A Snugglebundl blanket – oh my goodness an absolute godsend for anyone who has had a c-section. I had an emergency section with T and an elective with J but boy do I wish I’d had a Snugglebundl first time round. One of the biggest problems I had with T was really struggling to lift him in and out of his bed both ion the hospital and when I got home. The Snugglebundl is basically a beautiful blanket with handles to lift it meaning you don’t need to lean over as much to move baby from place to place. Absolutely brilliant invention. Have recommended to a number of my friends who I knew we’re havering sections and also to those who asked where I got the lovely spotty blanket from that J was pictured in as a newborn. It has a head support and wraps around baby whilst still allowing seat belts etc to be fastened which means you can move baby in and out of the pram or car seat without waking them. It also stops the startle reflex from waking them up when they are out down from being held.

6. A really good baby sling – this time round I have used the baby sling loads. Particularly when T is tired and needs a sleep in the buggy which has prevented me needing to buy a double buggy and I used it all the time during our skiing holiday as it was the safest way to take J out. This time round I had the BabyBjorn miracle carrier and it really is brilliant. It has an adjustable contraption on the back which means you can move the weight between your shoulders and lower back until you fin dither most comfortable carrying position for you. Baby can be carried from birth facing your body and then can face out wards as soon as they can support their head. J is a chubby chops and is still very easy to carry in the sling now he is nearly 6 months old. The sling can be quickly and easily adjusted with the side straps meaning it can be quickly adjusted to be used by mum or dad. It is also really easy to get baby in and out and baby feels well supported. The height at which baby is held is easily adjusted as baby gets bigger to ensure they are always own the “close enough to kiss” position. Absolutely love this sling.

There are plenty more and I’ll update as I think of them!

This weekend we have been trying out some yummy treats from Yu! Snacks

Yu! Snacks are a range of healthy snacks which are made from 100% real fruit. I was really interested in trying the Yu! Snacks as Miss E is a sweet and chocolate demon and sometimes I find it quite hard to find something that she likes that is healthy for her.

We were sent a selection of products to try.

Just Fruit Chews these were bite sized pieces of dried fruit which look and taste just like a sweet, but are 100% from fruit. They are one of your 5 a day, less than 90 calories, fat free and no added sugar.

These were Miss E’s favourite she actually thought that they were sweets so I was a happy mummy. I also tried them and was pleasantly surprised how nice they were. Miss C wasn’t so keen( she doesn’t like dried fruit by itself and knew they weren’t sweets.

Yu! Bars (40% fruit) are packed with plump, juicy fruits with feral in a gorgeously healthy yogurt coating.

These were my favourite. I loved the yogurt coating and really liked the chewiness of the bar. These were very moorish and I could have quite happily eaten them in one sitting!

Yogurt Coated Fruit Pieces are tasty fruit bites covered in a creamy yoghurt coating, containing real fruit and real yogurt.

These were Miss C’s favourite, she thought they were covered in white chocolate, so again I was a happy mummy as they were a healthy treat.

I love the packaging of Yu! It’s eye catching. I will be adding these to my shopping basket.

One lucky reader can win 10 Yu! products from the range. All you need to do is fill out the Rafflecopter form.

The mornings are light, there are eggs in nests, the bluebells and daffodils are out and the air smells of freshly cut grass so that must mean spring has finally sprung! Last week I even had the washing on the line! I’m so glad spring has finally sprung as I can start my Spring Cleaning.

Now the girls are a little older they want to help me clean! Sometimes it can be a help, other times it can be a hinderance and all I want to do is cart them to my mums so that they are out the way. It suddenly got me thinking that maybe I should try and get them more involved in the cleaning. This week Miss C has steamed the kitchen floor with me while MIss E has done the vacuuming. Obviously I was supervising them as i’m not a child labourer but they often want to do it all by themselves as they feel more grown up.

So I have been looking for ideal products to help with Spring Cleaning this year.

Top of my list wish list is a Henry Vaccum Cleaning,

The girls would love the Henry as it looks fun and is really easy to use. My mum has one and the girls love chasing her round when she uses it. I also want the Henry as it comes with lots of attachments which would be great for getting those hard to reach places.

Next on my wish list is a i-Robot Roomba 770 Vacuum Cleaner

This is on my wish list purely for me, we reviewed a i-Robot last year and fell in love with it. You can just leave it on and come back to a clean floor. Great for putting on when you are on the school run. When I was younger I used to dream about a robot doing my vacuuming and I don’t think you could get closer to a robot than this!

This post contains sponsored links. This does not affect the content of the post- all items are ones `i would love to own, hence their inclusion in my WIsh List.
