We were invited to a pool party in London with Water Babies and Tommy’s to find out about Tommy’s Splashathon which is in its 11th year.
We were very excited as the Splashathon combines two of the girls favourite things – swimming and Peppa Pig.
We arrived at the Park Plaza Hotel and went down to the pool where we were greeted by the one and only Peppa Pig. We then got ready for for our swimming session, MIss E was given a Happy Nappy to wear under her swimming costume. Miss C was a bit put out that she didn’t have to wear one!
The session with Water Babies lasted 30 mins we did lots of rhymes, swimming and jumping in. Both MIss C and Miss E enjoyed jumping off the float! Miss C did have a little mishap as I didn’t catch her so she went under but she still said that was her favourite part.
After the swimming sessions we went and had cake and biscuits and met with a lady from Tommy’s to explain what Tommy’s was about. I wish I had know about Tommy’s when I had had a miscarriage, as it provides help and information on premature birth, still birth and miscarriages. To find out more click here.
To help raise funds for Tommy’s they created Tommy’s Splashathon. It is a great way to raise money for Tommy’s whether you are a swimmer or non swimmer. I want to hold a Splashathon in the summer holidays as the girls love playing in the paddling pool so might as well make it into a fundraiser with their friends.
We had a great day out
