Annoying Monsters Aggravating Alfred–A Reveiw

Aggravating Alfred landed on our doorstep for us to review for Halloween.

alfred

About Alfred:

Aggravating Alfred loves to scream, the best time to scream in someone’s ear? When they’ve just fallen asleep!

Alfred loves being poked in the eye, Try it, he’ll give you the shock of your life.

Alfred Loves: Slimey Snails

Alfred Hates: All things sweet & nice

When Alfred landed on our doorstep Caitlyn tore him out of the box and played with him straight away. She found it difficult at first to press the swirls in the right place to make him do something but worked it out quite quickly.

We had the shock of our life after we stopped playing with Alfred for a while and he started to snore. When Gizmodad came in he showed us how to record our voices which Caitlyn thought was funny and really enjoyed listening to her voice.

What we like:

  • The bright colours
  • Kept everyone entertained young and old
  • Being able to record

National Geographic Kids: Review and Giveaway

image

Half term is upon us and we have been looking for activities to keep the little monkeys occupied so that us mums can have 5 minutes peace.

Since Caitlyn was 8/9 months old I have brought her a magazine and looked at the pictures and talked about them. I hadn’t realised that there was a national geographic for kids so was excited to receive a copy.

We were sent the summer special copy of National Geographic Kids

image

Caitlyn straight away recognised the Cars2 picture and the dolphins but was quite excited by the gifts that came with the magazine, the blow up ball is still going strong!

Caitlyn and I sat down and went through the magazine and talked about the pictures, I was amazed how many animals she knew! When Gizmodad came home he grabbed the magazine and read it from front to back and said he really enjoyed the magazine and we read it to Caitlyn many times till Ellie got her hands on it and tore it.

Sigg Bottle Review and Giveaway

Caitlyn and George love drinking out of Sara’s Sigg bottle so when Sara was sent 2 children’s Sigg bottles she knew Caitlyn and George would be very happy to test them out.

8261_00_underwater_fun_RGB_klein

8261_10_forest_fun_RGB_klein

I was really impressed with Caitlyn’s bottle it is really colourful and she loves drinking out of it and it saves me a fortune in Fruit Shoots as she prefers to drink juice out of her bottle. Before her Sigg bottle it was quite difficult to get Caitlyn to drink juice or water out of a normal kids bottle.

We have been out and about a lot over the summer and take Caitlyn’s Sigg bottle with us as her drink stays fresh and cool the only trouble we had was when she first got the Sigg bottle she found it difficult to open and close the bottle but now she has no problems at all!

FACTS

  • The bottles are made in Switzerland from the highest quality and have been since 1908.
  • The bottles have a neutral taste and leave no residue inside the bottle, a fresh taste every time you use the bottle.
  • The bottles are uniquely lightweight and break-proof.
  • 100% leak proof.
  • Environmentally friendly and recyclable.
  • Flexible Eco Care Liner inside the bottle is completely FREE from BPA and phthalates.
  • No impairment of bottle due to dents and wear and tear.

SIGG is the only manufacturer that offers a comprehensive range of spare parts and accessories that will enable you to refresh your SIGG with a new top or a change in style of the tops – we would encourage you to visit http://www.sigg.com to see exactly what tops and accessories are available for SIGG Bottles.

What we liked:

  • The design of the bottle
  • The fact that the bottle doesn’t leak, it is great in Caitlyn’s nursery bag.
  • Caitlyn likes drinking out of it (so does Ellie)
  • It’s suitable for my 2 girls
  • It saves waste (I hate it when you have lots of plastic going in the recycling)
  • Lots of designs to chose from

What could be better:

  • The bottle came with a cleaning brush included

My First Baby Annabell Time To Sleep Doll : A Review

Caitlyn and Ellie really like dolls. Ellie is always pinching Caitlyn’s doll Suzie so I have been looking for a doll which is suitable for a 1 year old as most dolls are suitable from 3+.

I was kindly sent My First Baby Annabell Time To Sleep Doll for Ellie to review. Ellie couldn’t wait for me to get it out of it’s packaging but then Caitlyn took it off her. Once I located it from Caitlyn I turned the doll on so that she went to sleep and babbled.

790281 My First Baby Annabell Time To Sleep Doll (4)

Ellie enjoyed giving the doll cuddles and Caitlyn liked making her go to sleep. At first both the girls were very wary of the doll making noises and Caitlyn kept saying the doll was laughing at her and that she didn’t like it. After about 30 minutes the doll was named Lucy and was in Ellie’s arms having a cuddle.

Lucy has been with us everywhere Caitlyn took her on holiday with her as her doll was too big to go in her back pack and both Ellie and Caitlyn played with her most days on holiday.

The claims:

My first Baby Annabell® Time-to-Sleep doll has special sleep-time functions allowing her to fall into a blissful sleep with the help of your little one.

When my first Baby Annabell® Time-to-Sleep is tired and wants to go to sleep, children can help her to feel more comfortable by touching under her arms and placing her head on her pillow, she will then stir and make baby sounds until she falls sound asleep. My first BabyAnnabell’s® super soft body makes hours of hug-ability a total guarantee. The doll is priced around £29.99 and available at all good retailers nationwide.

What we liked:

  • We thought the doll was cute, especially in it’s babygro and hat
  • We liked how soft she was which made it easy to cuddle her

What could be better:

  • Caitlyn found it hard to activate the doll, Ellie couldn’t do it at all

Over all I liked My First Baby Annabell Time To Sleep however I think it was more suitable for Caitlyn’s age (3) than Ellie’s age (1) The girls still play with Lucy and is part of their doll family.

Darling and Darling Keepsake Box Review and Giveaway

Since having my girls, I have always meant to put away keepsakes for both of them. Caitlyn’s bits are in an old shoe box but Ellie’s keepsakes have been moved into the gorgeous keepsake box we received from Darling and Darling.

I choose the girl version

keep girl

keep boy

The keepsake box came packaged up really nicely with tissue paper around it, which I thought was a lovely touch. The keepsake box is nice and sturdy and feels like it will grow with your baby (something you need if you want to keep it along time.)

When we got it Gizmodad said to me that it was a waste of time buying something to put keepsakes in when an old shoe box will do (he doesn’t do sentimental), but I really think that it is a lovely box to handover to your child with all their childhood firsts in. It is a great size to put on a shelf rather than put in a cupboard and forget about.

What we like:

  • Good size
  • Choice of girl or boy
  • Felt good quality

The keepsake box is available at darlinganddarling.com at £20

We have been given 1 keepsake box to giveaway

All you need to do is leave a comment telling me what your most treasured keepsake is.

This giveaway ends 5th November 2011 at midnight. UK residents only please.

Repechage Sea Spa Mineral Bath Bubbles Review and Giveaway

I was sent a bottle of Repechage Sea Spa Mineral Bath Bubbles to review as part of our mummy me time feature. I have to admit that I very rarely get a chance to have a bath these days but when I do, I do enjoy  having a product that makes me relax, smells divine and makes lots of bubbles.

repechage_sea_spa_group-shot-lr

Since being back a work my feet really hurt and often my legs ache if I have had a busy day and I find the bath bubbles really help me unwind and revive my aching limbs. I really like the smell and it stays on my skin which I like. Gizomad has been using the bubbles too when he is feeling rundown and says it really makes him feel relaxed, he also likes them as they make really good bubbles.

What we like:

  • Smells divine
  • Makes lots of bubbles
  • I like the packaging it reminds me of the sea
  • Although I feel that it is on the expensive side at £19.50 I love the way it made me feel.
